Socio-Environmental Management

We are committed to acting in a socially fair, environmentally responsible and economically viable manner. To this end, we have developed the Socio-Environmental Policy and the Socio-Environmental Management (GSA). Both are based on the NBR 16001:2012 requirements and integrate ISO 14001:2015 standards and A.R.S. (AMAGGI Responsible Standard), RTRS (Round Table on Responsible Soy), ProTerra and ABR/BCI (Responsible Brazilian Cotton / Better Cotton Initiative).

GSA is formed by a set of activities developed and operated by the Corporate Sustainability area together with the company’s units. The proposal is to prevent and minimize possible negative socio-environmental impacts related to AMAGGI’s operations, products and services, in addition to maximizing positive impacts with actions and programs.

Our Policy

AMAGGI operates in agricultural and soybean production, origination, processing and marketing of grains, inputs, energy, port administration and river transport. The Socio-Environmental Policy reaffirms our commitment to act in a socially fair, environmentally responsible and economically viable manner. AMAGGI’s performance is guided by the principles of transparency and good governance. Therefore, the premises are environmental protection, minimization of socio-environmental risks and the search for continuous improvement that respects the needs and expectations of stakeholders.

• Meet achievable legal requirements and other requirements to which the organization subscribes related to its socio-environmental aspects.
• Improve our processes, seeking to prevent pollution and social impacts, manage greenhouse gas emissions and improve socio-environmental performance in our operations and value chain.
• Adopt good socio-environmental practices to minimize accidents, negative impacts and generate shared value.
• Promote business partners and key stakeholders engagement for socio-environmental responsibility.
• Promote respect for Human Rights and decent work in its operations and value chain.

Local Development

Present in all regions of the country, AMAGGI understands that it exerts an important influence on the social and economic context through activities, operations and relationships with stakeholders. And it understands that growth is only viable when it contributes to the development of local communities.

Each region has its own social, cultural and economic characteristics. Therefore, the company acts with social responsibility, preventing and monitoring possible negative impacts, especially with a view to respecting the human rights of the communities. That is why, together with the André and Lucia Maggi Foundation, we invest in initiatives such as mapping and managing local impacts, generating employment and income, disseminating knowledge and territorial development.

Private Social Investment

AMAGGI also contributes to local and territorial development through the Private Social Investment Policy, with actions planned and carried out by the André and Lucia Maggi Foundation. The portfolio brings together programs and projects that contribute to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with AMAGGI’s Global Sustainability Positioning and ESG Goals.

All resources are provided for in the annual budget, according to the planning carried out by the executive team of the André and Lucia Maggi Foundation and approved by the members of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.

Assurance of
Origin Programs and Socio-Environmental Certifications

AMAGGI believes that the guarantee of origin programs and socio-environmental certifications are ways of reaffirming its commitment to a sustainable and responsible production. As a result, they generate social, environmental – such as zero deforestation and conversion – and economic benefits for producers, companies and consumers throughout their value chain.

ORIGINS

For all its investment in a geo-spatial system and traceability of the supply chain, AMAGGI began to offer the market an exclusive program of Guarantee of Origin capable of meeting the most demanding market.

Denominated as ORIGINS, it guarantees a responsible origin of grains, deforestation and conversion free (DCF), traceable and verified by a third party. It also includes the calculation of areas of forest and native vegetation and their respective carbon stock, making it possible to calculate the carbon footprint of the grain and has a module with a 100% digital and highly scalable solution.

Launched in 2021, it is already marketed by AMAGGI and is one of the company’s main tools to guarantee sustainability goals and to have 100% of the chain free of deforestation and conversion of native vegetation by 2025.

In 2024, for the second consecutive year, the FEFAC (Federation of European Feed Manufacturers) recognized that AMAGGI’s Origins Field standard meets the main sustainability criteria established by the entity. Among the fundamental principles are no conversion or deforestation and soy traceability.

Certification Guide: ORIGINS FIELD

ACTS: AMAGGI COTTON TRACEABILITY AND SUSTAINABILITY PROGRAM

The ACTS program was implemented to provide full transparency on the cotton produced by AMAGGI from origin to destination.

Using traceability technologies and a QR Code reader, the buyer quickly accesses information about where and when the cotton was produced. Information on sustainability, production methods and even the people involved in the cultivation are also available for all actors present in the value chain.

With the transparency and traceability provided by ACTS, the proposal is to support trading partners, manufacturers and consumers to make more conscious choices when purchasing products that have cotton as a raw material.
