AMAGGI is the global leader in Forest 500’s soybean ranking

AMAGGI has once again been highlighted, for the third consecutive year, in the global Forest 500 ranking, by the nonprofit organization Global Canopy. 350 companies and 150 financial institutions were assessed regarding commitments against deforestation and native vegetation conversion, as well as criteria such as actions in defense of human rights, as well as transparency in actions.

The report was released this Tuesday (27) in a webinar. AMAGGI ranked first in the soybean segment and second in the global ranking. Other top-rated companies include Nestlé, Marfrig, PepsiCo, Suzano, JBS, and Mars.

“The result proves that we are on the right path towards sustainable development, valuing and respecting people and the environment. We have kept a strong agenda of socio-environmental action, and once again, we have been recognized for this work in Forest 500,” said Judiney Carvalho de Souza, CEO of AMAGGI.

The evaluation occurred from May to September 2023, based on information published by the companies. AMAGGI’s data were mainly taken from two annual documents published on its website: the ESG report and the Progress report.

The excellent placement in the ranking validates AMAGGI’s commitment to implementing actions aimed at best practices in sustainability, as well as transparency in its management.

“This is another result of our work towards a deforestation-free and conversion-free supply chain. AMAGGI values respect for the environment and human rights in all its operations,” said Juliana Lopes, Chief ESG, Communication, and Compliance Officer at AMAGGI.

Forest 500, whose annual report is in its 10th edition, recognizes AMAGGI as part of the top 5% of the 500 companies that are implementing their deforestation commitments for all commodities to which they are exposed. AMAGGI is also among the top 6% committed with net-zero emissions, also making great progress in the fight against deforestation.

An initiative by Global Canopy, Forest 500 aims to provide open access data, metrics, and insights for leading companies, financial institutions, governments, and organizations worldwide.
