AMAGGI and Unitapajós were recognized last Tuesday (DEC 11) by the social organization Childhood Brasil for supporting and sponsoring the Na Mão Certa program, which for 11 years has been active in combatting the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents.

The acknowledgments were delivered to the Childhood Brasil partners during the 12th Na Mão Certa annual meeting in São Paulo, and were received on behalf of AMAGGI by the Social and Environmental Supervisor Heloísa Torres, and by the Social and Environmental Analyst Daniele Paulo; and, on behalf of Unitapajós, by the Social and Environmental Supervisor Leandro Morilha and the River Pilot Ezequiel Costa Marques.

AMAGGI was recognized for its work in combating the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents on highways and waterways, and Unitapajós for the same actions on waterways.

The event was attended by professionals, entities and companies involved in combatting sexual violence against children and adolescents to talk about the advances in practices for preventing and combating based on new research, partnerships and strategic alignment with the principles of the UN’s “Companies and Human Rights” and the organization’s “Sustainable Development Goals”.

Heloísa Torres and Ezequiel Costa Marques participated in the panel “The importance of partnerships and research in preventing and combating the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents” alongside the companies Braskem, Jaloto Transportes and Golden Cargo, and SEST SENAT (Social Service for Transportation and the National Transportation Learning Service).

During the conversation, the AMAGGI and Unitapajós representatives had the opportunity to comment on the importance of the partnership between AMAGGI and Childhood Brasil in the profile survey of the truck drivers on the Grain Route (the BR-364 highway), as well as the training sessions carried out by Unitapajós with the employees involved in river transportation operations.

The supervisor also presented the Responsible Logistics Program, which aims to enhance the company’s good relationship with its transportation suppliers and promote the well-being of the workers involved, minimizing the activities’ economic and social and environmental impacts and reducing accident risk on highways and waterways.
