A United Nations (UN) initiative focused on mobilizing the international business community to adopt fundamental and internationally accepted values in the areas of human rights, labo relations, the environment and the fight against corruption through 10 principles:

1. Respect and support internationally recognized human rights in their area of influence;

2. Ensure that the company does not participate in human rights violations;

3. Support freedom of association and recognize the right to collective bargaining;

4. Eliminate all forms of forced or compulsory labor;

5. Efficiently eradicate all forms of child labor in its productive chain;

6. Encourage practices that eliminate any kind of discrimination in employment;

7. Take a proactive, responsible and proactive approach to environmental challenges;

8. Develop initiatives and practices to promote and disseminate social and environmental responsibility;

9. Envourage the development and diffusion of environmentally responsible technologies;

10. Combat corruption in all forms, including extortion and bribery.

The program was created by the Abrinq Foundation to mobilize companies so to act socially for the benefit of children and adolescents in Brazil. To become a Child Friendly Company, the company must have five basic commitments:

1. To not exploit child labor and not employ adolescents in activities that take place at night, are dangerous or unhealthy, respecting Law 8.069/90 – Child and Adolescent Statute;

2. Alert contracted suppliers that a proven child labor complaint will cause a disruption of the business relationship;

3. Carry out actions to raise awareness among clients, suppliers and the community about the prejudices of child labor;

4. Develop Education and Health actions for the benefit of children and adolescents, sons and daughters of employees;

5. Carry out social actions for the benefit of children and adolescents in communities, according to values established by the Abrinq Foundation.

Along with 20 other organizations from the private sector worldwide, AMAGGI was present in all stages of the project, being the only Brazilian company invited to participate in this elaboration process.

Today the company coordinates the Food and Agriculture Working Group of the Global Compact Network Brazil, which published, in 2016, a booklet to help guide the implementation of sustainable development principles and objectives, with information on successful cases in sustainable agriculture

We have developed a set of guidelines to help guide our corporate identity and define how we relate to society. In addition to general policies, we have in place specific policies, standards and standardized procedures that are disseminated through various types of technological support and internal and external communication channels.
